Burt’s Bees has a humble beginning. Burt left the hustle and bustle of Manhattan for a simpler life where he discovered a beehive and learned to tend to them. He stock-piled the remaining wax with an appreciation for the gift of natural resources. One day Burt picked up an unsuspecting hitch-hiking friend who had left the hustle and bustle of San Francisco in search of a simpler life, too. Roxanne and Burt became friends and business partners formalizing “Burt’s Bees”. They found his stock-piled wax to be quite the versatile resource to make sustainable and much-needed self-care products for the world. Since they started in the early 1980’s, they’ve created more body-care products like these facial towelettes.
