Why we love Pharmacopia and pack it in every Belly & Bag
If you know Belly & Bag by Baby Boldly, you know we spent a year sourcing and vetting the best non-toxic contents to offer busy, expecting mommas a
pre-packed hospital birth bag. We’re two moms who have “gone before you” and are proud to make preparing for birth easier than before. We love that our bag makes mommas feel confident in their prep for their hospital birth.
There’s a thousand birth bag checklists available and while much is the same, there are plenty of differences that can dizzy any momma-to-be. As one of our customers states, “Baby Boldly takes the guesswork out of knowing what to pack.” But we didn’t just want to sell expecting mommas a brilliant idea that saved them time and stress, we wanted to help her care for her body, too. So we took our time and only packed the best non-toxic inclusions available that would be effective, yet gentle and safe for her sacred body.
Researching, vetting, sudsing, choosing, packing - so you don't have to.
Toiletries are perhaps the most basic of essentials that anyone would know to pack in their birth bag. Depending on your personality, maybe you’re filling up little travel size bottles of your favorite soaps, or you’re the one throwing the entire bottle in your bag. Perhaps you’re researching travel-size bottles of non-toxic soaps to pack and waiting for them to arrive. Whatever way you pack, the perfect soap needs to be packed. We know this too and that’s why we found Pharmacopia to be the best and why they’re packed in every Belly & Bag! We took our time to determine that Pharmacopia beat out the rest of the options and mommas at our focus group agreed! We love its gentle scents and naturally-derived ingredients, making it safe and enjoyable for momma’s whole body post-birth. The travel-size bottles are space-saving and made of recyclable plastic. It’s the perfect amount for a few nights at the hospital. Not too much - not too little.
Pharmacopia was founded by a woman
Pharmacopia was founded by Lisa Levin after she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Leaving her successful career in marketing and graphic design, she became fascinated by the way herbs and oils could truly benefit our bodies. She worked with an herbalist and experimented with a variety of herbs growing in her own garden before producing this line of effective, non-toxic bath and body care products. Another female entrepreneur, Andreliz McGlade, loved her products and joined Lisa’s journey to further the business. Founded in 1999, Pharmacopia is enjoyed in upscale hotels across the globe and eventually became available for home use after countless fans' requests.
Why this matters...
While it seems obvious that these toiletries would be packed in every bag, this particular brand checked all the boxes we knew mommas cared about most. We wouldn’t just pack anything for newborn mommas who just experienced birth. Our bags are both convenient and top-quality. Because we’re buying in bulk, we’re able to pass on the savings of better-quality products to our mommas-to-be. So while it might be too pricey for each momma to pack it on her own, we’re able to make it affordable without sacrificing the quality. We also love that the scents are pleasing to both masculine and feminine preferences. We had one couple who went home and ordered some Pharmacopia for themselves to enjoy at home after trying it in our birth bag because the new dad loved it so much. Because of course he used her toiletries while at the hospital…
