The Best Holiday Pregnancy Announcements

The Best Holiday Pregnancy Announcements

Some of you have big news to share! If you’re stumped on how to share that you’re expecting, we’ve got some clever ideas for your birth announcement. The holidays are an especially sweet time to share your news with friends and family across the miles. Whether you’re incorporating it into a holiday card, an Instagram post or a gift, we’ve compiled a list of our favorites (including our own previous announcements!)

1. A Celebrity Announcement: “Paul Rudd”

Could you imagine? “A celebrity announcement”? What a fun way to share your big news! If you’ve come across a celebrity who was willing to snap a selfie with you (like this lucky couple) it’ll make for a big surprise and lots of fun conversation this season! (Maybe more about the celebrity and less about unwanted pregnancy advice.) (originally shared via @pregnancyannouncement)

2. Say-it-with-Santa Announcement

Taking pictures with Santa this year? Include him in making the announcement! If this is your subsequent pregnancy, you might consider having your firstborn take pictures with Santa. Bring along a cute sign for the two of them to hold together and share away! This endeared tradition along with your exciting news will make for some genuine holiday joy. (originally shared via @pregnancyannouncement)

3. Christmas Stockings: Natalie’s 2nd baby announcement

Co-founder Natalie incorporated a Christmas stocking to share the news of expecting her second baby. Knowing she was pregnant, it felt right to honor their newest family member with a stocking above the fireplace. She used the picture in their annual Christmas card that year, along with a smiley big sister-to-be holding a sonogram!

4. Light the Menorah or Kinara

Incorporating the holiday traditions of the menorah and kinara is a fun way to share the news of your pregnancy! We love these examples of paper cards or digital announcements. The catchy rhyming and the incorporation of traditional holiday colors of Kwanzaa makes for an exciting seasonal announcement. The same rhyming could be used for a Hanukkah card with “eight” nights of celebration, or the sweet use of words seen here with the traditional shades of blue.

5. Megan’s 2nd Pregnancy Announcement + Gender Reveal

Some of you might be thinking, “this isn’t ‘holiday’”, others of you might think, “it’s Harry Potter - that’s totally a holiday!” Well, co-founder, Megan, of Baby Boldy came up with this brilliant gender reveal, which she also used as her pregnancy announcement via Instagram. It was originally filmed as a virtual gender reveal for her family (not pictured: on Zoom) because... Covid-times. She recorded it for sharing on IG when she was ready to share her big news with everyone! We love how it incorporated the future-big-brother and was made personal with her creative touch and love for all things Potter. You can see the entire reveal here!

It's a special time in your life and sharing that news can be as simple and personal as you want it to be. The holidays are an exciting time to share what matters most to you and your growing family with the ones you love. Maybe you’ve been waiting to share your news until the holidays or maybe you just got your long-awaited pregnancy confirmation. Let us know how you’ll announce your pregnancy! #babyboldly
